Adding a Client Certificate to Google Chrome on OS X

When using client certificate authentication, you may need to add a client certificate to your Google Chrome browser on a Mac (OS X) device. Here's how to do it.

First, find the client certificate that was provided to you by your system administrator. This certificate is used for authentication purposes and has a specific name. To delete this certificate, press the Control key while clicking on it in the Keychain Access application.

Next, open the Keychain Access app, which can be found on the Dock or by searching for it in Spotlight search. Enter 'Keychain Access' into the search bar to find it. Once you're there, locate the client certificate and click on it to select it.

If a confirmation screen appears, enter your computer's password and click 'Always Allow.' This will allow the certificate to be added to your Keychain.

Once the login screen appears, check to see if you can access a service using this certificate. If the certificate selection screen appears, select the relevant certificate and click 'OK.'

In the Keychain Access app, double-click on the client certificate. From the drop-down list labeled 'When using this certificate:', select 'Always Trust.' Then, close the window.

The client certificate will now be added to your Keychain. If you need to obtain a password for the certificate, follow steps 1 and 2 of the client certificate authentication process.

To add the client certificate to Google Chrome, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser window, then select 'Settings.' Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'Advanced,' then 'System.'

Click on 'Certificates' and then 'Manage certificates.' Select 'Import' and choose the client certificate file ('.pfx') that was provided to you. Enter the password for the certificate when prompted.

Once the import is complete, your client certificate will be added to Google Chrome. You can now use it for authentication purposes.
